"ONLY" $1800 ? ..... well, if you have so much money, feel free to gift a bit to us, too ..... :p :D j/k

But, seriously, have you seen in the draw what type of lamp is used ?

it's not a HID, it's a ultra high pressure continuous arc xenon flashlamp !!

like these ones, as example: Xenon Lamps, Hamamatsu

Those lamps are used in scientific instruments, and costs a lot, both the lamp and the elevator / ballast ..... and are fragile during work, much more dangerous than halide HID, considering that usually they works around 250 to 300 atmosphere pressures, so i bet this guy use it very very cautious, and not as anyone can use a normal flashlight (after all, also not speaking about the danger of explosion, waste 1000$ or more of lamp for let it drop, isn't a so good deal :p)

But have to admit, from a handheld unit, it's an impressive beam :p :D

Sure it is. It's a discharge lamp with high intensity.

Sorry, maybe i had to be more precise:

"It's not a common halide HID, like the ones you can find in handheld flashlights and car headlights"

Fixed :p :D
