Glad that you have it going.
which iron did you use? I use different ones i started with a weller wes51, then when tougher jobs came i bought some metcal stations
still have all of my old irons, cant have enough soldering stations!
Bit disappointing I was looking forward to working on one of those. Working on two ps4s now, Replacing and soldering the HDMI connectors on .
I will keep my eye on the forums in case there is any other soldering needs arise.

It was a moderately-cheap chinese soldering station (not the cheapest one, average) with temperature regulation. Works well for my uses althought not nearly powerful enough to solder brass module directly to baseplate (tried that to improve cooling, far better than thermal paste and screws, unfortunately I failed). I think that I need a butane torch to do that and some kind of corrosive industrial flux
