I am close to finishing a batch of bluerays, I would like to hear from potential buyers which of these options would top the poll.

Bare Blue-ray pointer
Blue-ray pointer with 1 pr 3.6v rechargable batteries
Blue-ray pointer with 1 pr 3.6v rechargable batteries and charger

If I need to get batteries and/or chargers the sale date will be in around 3 wks, without the extras some time next week...maybe :)

Prices do not include P&P which I cannot work out until I know the postage size and weight.

I will post a couple of pictures on the next post so that you can see what they look like.

Hey Rog,

Looks like a cool little unit. Do you have an LPM to rate the diodes with though? You'll be able to charge a premium if you find diodes that will push over 25mW (and last, of course). Offering the batts & charger with the laser is a good idea. Works for Jack at Optotronics. ;)

Cheers, CC

just sell the pointers with all the options you listed and give people a choice :) some people might already have the batteries and charger and others wont have them.

edit: looks like an awesome design. nice work

No, sadly not, I am not going to claim anything other than that played onto white paper, alongside an Atlasnova 635nm 5mw red the blue ray is brighter.

I use one with the same output in classrooms to point out things on a projection screen and it is as good as any red pointer I have seen without going over the top like with a greenie.

They are all finished and tested now so I will put up the details sometime very soon.

Beautifull looking laser! A true Executive class pointer. I saw your thread before.

Does it have a heat sink? What's the safe duty cycle?

Chris

It's a bluray reader diode, those don't really get warm.
