buying laser diodes

Uummm, I'm not sure hightechdealz diodes really are 16x, they might be diodes like the ones from SenKat's bad batch. Who knows? Plus I haven't heard of anyone who has tested their diodes.

I would definetely go with Stonetek. ;)

Stonetek win. hightechdealz is run by a guy who buys second rate crap diodes and sells them on at 250% markup cos he thinks he'll scam some money off idiots.

excuse me? I'm not making not much profit at all from diode sells. I'm about to send one of my diodes to hemlock mike to test at different currents and to get a graph of the power output. i believe it will stand up well, as they are the same diodes that stonetek sells.

please refrain from the slander.

and stonetek is a great dealer as well.

Sorry, but not anymore. Stonetek is selling newer diodes that are tougher and can take higher powers.

Actually they are the same as they were before, he just realized what the diodes he is buying are. now that i look at them i have the same markings on my diodes "6EJL"

there's been much debate about this, it was found that the XXJL is the JL-54 diodes.

see pic here: http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forumdata/yabbfiles/Attachments/SLD1236VL-54_6EJL.jpg

in conclusion, we sell the same diodes.

Sorry dude but I don't agree with you saying that the only thing SenKat did was to realize the diodes he was selling weren't SLD1236VL, but they were different diodes. (the diodes from the bad batch)
The first diodes from the GB could be driven at 250mA MAX and would output around 150mW, the diodes from the bad batch died at very low currents. (mine died after 30 min. of total on time by driving it at just 150mA) These JL-54 diodes can be driven at 300mA and give an output of around 200mW according to Hemlock Mike.
So there's no way that SenKat is just selling the same diodes because these are a lot stronger than the ones from the bad batch. Plus the diodes from the bad batch were found to be VL-54 diodes, not JL-54.

Your diodes might be the same ones SenKat is selling, who knows? Just send one of your diodes to Mike and see what the results are.

thx for the clarification, ive spoken with mike and will be sending him a few, im just waiting on some aixiz laser modules to come in because i told him i'd give him one as well.

:)
