Burning Lasers HOW TO:

I cant seem to find a thread for the newbie DIYer.
I want to build the simple DIY burning laser, but I cant seem to find a post of exactly what I need.
I bought an Aixiz laser diode housing already and have a minimag in waiting.
I need to get a good diode and build/buy a driver?! for it.
Any help to do it right would be appreciated!

It doesnt say what specific things are like "sleds" and such...

Sleds are laser assemblies used in DVD, CD, Blu-Ray, and HDDVD readers and writers. They are one of the most common sources for laser diodes. Here is a picture of a 6X Blu-Ray sled from amkdeath's group buy:

I'd say first off, put that light back together and don't put your laser together in that PERIOD!!!! The maglight tutorial is stupid and will kill your diode. Then you'll have a broken maglight and no working laser. time for some reading.
