Just started ordering home parts to build a laserprojector after reading up on this forum all night.

Gotta say i fell in love with this page instantly :)

But anyways heres a quick skecth of what i had in mind.

Gonna order a A140 blue laser with dual flexidrives and a 405-g-2 lens from DTR in the week for the blue part of the laser.

Got a 300mw green module already laying around thats gonna go for the green part.

The red is still something i need to read up on what im gonna use.

for Galvo im thinking of ordering something like This

And for the Pc to ILDA im gonna order a iShow box with the usb interface and hook it up to the scene controller.

Im including a _very_ rough sketch i made up to start off with..

The big "?" on it is for something that i think might be called a laser multiplexer or something?

Also how do i hookup the lasers to the controllercard + and - goes to the laserdrivers + and - ?

Anyways tips and idea's is greatly apreciated.

also im thinking of maybe trying to integrate eyebeam with this project somehow.. Not sure how thou yet :)

Are you also thinking of resizing your blurry diagram photo so that it doesn't create horizontal scroll bars?

Do NOT scrimp on the software

If you are willing to spend the cost of 60K galvos, step up your software choice

I believe that you will be disappointed with the I-Show package

The I-Show box with Spaghetti software is the minimum I would consider acceptable

After a while, you may become disillusioned with even that hardware/software combination

Also, Re: your "multiplexer" -- You're going to have to work with dichros

But even if i whould get something a little cheaper initialy whouldent i be able to just buy a different software and keep the ILDA controller or ar the controllers bound to the software they come with?

also

Is there something perticular you have in mind that might be more suitable?

Cheers! //Joakim

Absolutely, you CAN . . . . but why would you?

Not all software is compatible with all DAC's
I think that drlava's new software has the widest range of compatibility

You are going to get a lot of my "favorite is because . . ." with this query

I started with I-Show
Moved up to I-Show with Spaghetti
The next step was a Pangolin FB3 with QuickShow
Now I am learning Beyond

Peace,
dave

Yes i was glanzing at Pangolin on ebay. The only problem is budget... The decision stands between either better galvos or better software.

But thanks a ton on the dichros. Gave me something more to read on (and order ;))

Gonna start on designing some sort of metall case for the whole build later today when i get home.

Cheers!

Updating buildlog alittle :)

Started to make some heatsinks for the lasers that will act as holders also.
