*** BluRays for $25... ***

guys, 20mW doesnt burn stuff right? its just a tad bit brighter than usual, right? For, like pointing at the sky, right? Are these things so beautiful that its worth every penny? Thanks...

amk

It may depend on your point of view, but to me the violet is too beautiful and versatile to pass up! I love the fluorescent and phosphorescent effects and the violet color! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Oh by the way, my Daedal made bluray is over 10 mW and it can smoke black plastic and with a lens, pop a balloon! :)

I'm running mine at 55mA which according to Mike's graph should put it somewhere around 35mW. I don't run it very long at a time, but it's been behaving just fine at that level.
Pointing it at the sky, you won't see anything, unless your eyes are somehow very sensitive to near UV.

Why go for the glass optics? I've heard that glass absorbs UV more than an acrylic lens, and others have claimed the glass lenses don't even focus as sharp as the acrylic ones. Opinions?

I think people only wanted the glass because they thought the acrylic would melt, but at this power youd be more lucky to melt butter 8-)

...lazer... ;D ;D ;D

it is because the blu-ray causes the acrylic lense to floresce and the blass lenses give a much better beam quality.

I ordered one LD, salvaged and placed in Aixiz module. Also, an optics lot--for $5, gotta get a peek at that, too! ;D

I did not know this...Interesting...I am going to need to try a glass lens in mine then.

I like the glass lenses because you don't have to bore out the back side of them to get a full beam output, and because they are true collimators rather than focusing lenses.

It is true that the acrylic ones help you focus down to a pinpoint MUCH better, but I haven't had any experience with a fluorescent acrylic lens... ;D

I do have some, but I'm not sure if I have any extras. I will see how it rounds up by the end of this GB and if I have any left over I'll send you :)

Do you need acrylic or glass collimators?

any pics of the glass colimator?

edit:DDL, im about to put an order for 4, also how can i order a "kit" without the aixiz assembly? i have too many of them laying around :P and can the "kit" go out with my shipment from the previous GB?

Sure thing :)

PM me and we'll work it out.

As about that extra order... here's the new headline:
