BDR or GGW?

GGW with the lenses from Larry/Jayrob will give you easily 250mW. BUT, seeing the 12x diodes going above 500mW, if you have the cash I wouldn't doubt it a second.

Last I heard, they were both using, the same lens (405-G-1)

Peace,
dave

Yes, the 405-G-1 lens elements that Larry and I are using, are the same...

The pricing is very similar. The main difference is the mounting of the lens. Larry uses a custom machined nut from MISTERWILLING, and the lens is glued in.

I use a modified AixiZ brass lens nut with a custom machined spacer/retainer that holds the lens in place using the threaded retaining ring.

About the 'splash'. This is from the diode. Meaning that different diodes may give more, or less of a splash. I noticed that some AW210 diodes seem to have less of a splash. But I have not fully confirmed it with any type of measurements.

But if you try the same laser with both lenses (Larry's and mine), you will have the same 'splash' and output power...

My 650-G-1 is the same mounting and assembly style... (obviously a different lens though) You will not have nearly as much 'splash' (if any) with this lens on a red...
