Aviators as safety glasses?

Out of curiosity, how well would a pair of aviators work as safety glasses? Would the mirrored surface reflect the light of a laser away from your eyes, keeping them safe?

I would think that companies that produce eye protection would have thought of this by now...prolly gonna go with robjdixon on this one haha.

You are simply asking, "Do Aviators work the same as taping large mirrors over your eyes?

So... no they do not. They in fact, increase your chances of getting damage. They dilate your pupils allowing for MORE light to enter your eye.

Hm, thought I was subscribed to this thread. Oh well. Anyways, thanks for the replies. Didn't think it would actually work, but worth a shot asking I guess.
