So at 31 feet with 3 element lenses we get a "dot" of 50mm. With the beam expander we get a more perfect dot of 20mm.
Can't take a picture of the dot with calipers in frame since I have to hold the beam expander in place.
Thanx for sharing your continued experiments. Let me add that this type of experimenting and tinkering is the " Prime Mover " of our continued efforts to push our hobby forward.
Augh Oh...." Rant Warning " !!!!
To any member who takes the time to experiment....and share that learning path....I say...THANK YOU ! You fuel the fire of evolution !
You share your experiments and learning....and in turn....we all learn....and push the hobby forward.
Here...and at PL.... we have...by working together...made a small difference.
We are no big lab....with huge scientific testing equipment.... and a staff of highly educated professional engineers.
But....we have passion....and scientific curiosity....and we pursue ...the " Truth "....and that is the pillar of the Scientific Methodology !!
OK...end rant !
Just wanted to express my thanks at your efforts. Beam Expanders are amazing optics !!
But....rather expensive....so....if they can be cobbled together....for a small amount of $$$...That is a real winner !! Thanx
