Hi as I'm on my phone and i cant do a search it just closes the search box when i try to type in it so i apologize in advance but can you run two 16340 batteries in a S3 G2 model late 2012 manufacture rather than the 18650 and get more out of it, I'm asking because the site above warnlasers is showing what looks exactly like a Arctic S3 in its range and in its specs it says two 16340 batteries a typo or correct I'm getting just over 1400mW now so pretty happy but higher voltage usually will boost output Thanks

No you will KILL the Arctic with 2x 16340, because 2x 16340 will give you 7+ volts, while 1x 18650 will give you 3.7V

No, this will not work...

Between the laserdiode and the batteries these's a PCB called a driver.
This driver regulates the voltage being send to the laserdiode from the batteries.
You can't get more power out of your laser by giving it more voltage, couse the driver is set to a current value that you can't change by simply adding more voltage to it.
It will only overheat, or it will go poof and never work again.

The driver in the Arctic is designed for 1 single 18650 3,7V cell!
Putting 2x 16340 a.k.a 2× 3,7V will kill the driver and or the diode aswell if the driver doesn't have any overvoltage protection.

To keep it simple.
DON"T USE 2X 18650 or you will destroy the Arctic laser!

The laser ''warnlaser'' has is using a different driver then the Arctic does, so this laser from Warnlaser can take 2×16340.

Cheers, Sm.

Yeah that's what i thought but the Luna range in the above website shows a carbon copy S3 minus the S3 arctic labeling hence the question thought it was to good to be true thx

If things would only be that easy, we all would have done it :P

But you can't.... it will go POOF, and no more oehhhss and ahhhsss.

Knowing WL at least, their driver would probably burn out. Don't try it unless you are willing to kill the driver

I know someone who tried this once. The modes start acting strangely, and the driver dies eventually.

It’s not so simple now a days to buy a excellent written essays, first of all if you are intent. Someone always help make seriously posts i'd condition.

^Not only that, but at least if you necro a thread, post something that makes sense...
