^I agree with you Razako, traveling space is still something far beyond our abilities. We have trouble reaching Mars for pete's sake! Still, the Arecibo observatory is a good way to at least try to make progress :)

I guess my first hand sighting of a craft far beyond our own technological advancement is not acceptable, cannot be considered? Unable to consider that, or just can't take second hand from someone that they are here?
 
Well, i guess you'll need to produce that spacecraft to convince anyone.

Nothing personal, but the chances of you imagining things or even being completely tripping your balls off for no apparent reason seem -way- higher than those of alien spacecraft wizzing about... not matter how conviced you are to have seen one.

Then again i probably wouldn't believe seeing it myself, and just blame the whole thing on a bad trip induced by fungus on the bread on something, unless there was a larger number of people and/or video evidence available.

As for the latter i'd just presume there was, if people see anything remotely unusual these days the first reflex seem to be to film it using their phones, even if it's something dangerous (like lava flowing towards them) they really should be running away from rapidly ;)
 
I know, but I'm convinced, there are other members here too who have had first hand sightings which they had no doubts were not conventional aircraft, the only conclusion we can make on our own, alone of course, is that either we have far more sophisticated craft than generally known, or they were someone else's sophisticated craft. When you have a close encounter of only a few hundred feet, it leaves no doubt in the mind of the experiencer. Also, the last one I saw was viewed by a coworker too, neither of us had fungus for lunch or dinner.
 
Yes. I have seen a couple of instances in my relatively short life. The important thing to note is that there is a lot of things we don't know about space time, and it is possible that it could be manipulated beyond what we can currently imagine. We may see it as impossible to travel 100's of light years, but maybe not to them. Also we are part of a much bigger system. It is becoming more credible that we exist in a multiverse. If it is the version which allows extra time dimensions. It could allow ftl travel and time travel without breaking the laws of physics or producing paradoxes. At this early stage in our development, I think it is important to remain open to the possibility.

For me, UFO sightings are like ghosts/paranormal activity. I've always been fascinated by such topics and I'd love to believe, but I've never actually seen anything myself:can:
 
I'm not much interested in ghost or paranormal activity, don't see it in the same category at all, those I am not so sure exist, but I've seen craft which had performance far beyond conventional aircraft, not that my seeing such can convince anyone, I had to see for myself too.
 
I suppose there could be a paranormal reality where entities exist which can be seen here from time to time, I do believe we continue to exist as self conscious beings, so it isn't something outside of such a belief. However, my belief has nothing to do with religion, I think it is simply a product of being human, that through some kind of quantum level entanglement, we continue to exist after the body dies, what we become, I can't say... but I do think there is an escape to a timeless place after death where entropy cannot follow.
 
It could be possible that separate timelines/ realities could overlap our own giving a ghost reality. But where we perceive them as ghosts, it is also possible that we are future ghosts to them. The term ghost should be seen as something like a hologram rather than the stereotypical apparition. It could also explain some but not all UFO like encounters. Earth creation many years in the future?

This all reminds me of a Nikola Tesla quote. "The day science begins to study non-physical phenomena, it will make more progress in one decade than in all the previous centuries of its existence."

It could be regarded that anything that has enough energy and probability to peak above the quantum noise could manifest itself within reality. What if this energy from an alternative reality was strong enough to peak above another realities probability interference. This is purely conceptual and makes sense to me. Sorry if it doesn't for anyone else. This is more just blurting out a thought. :p

Could be, I don't know what is going on with some of these sightings, they sometimes morph and phase in and out, as if coming from another dimension rather than from some other planet.
 
Yes they have been known to of done that in the past. I think that there is a correlation between that of paranormal and UFO related activities.

Another point, the 5th dimension would allow easy traveling in 4d space time.

The only reason why a object remains where it is, is because of a probability. The combination of all of the possibilities of its location superimpose to create a probability peak. A 5th dimensional object would be able to exist in any of these probability wave functions. Hence it can go from one point to another without travelling instantly, despite the two points being separated by light years. This is why I believe that any civilisation, if they have visited, would be extra dimensional.

I tend to like the multiverse/alternate dimensions theory for explaining ufo sightings. That would be an explanation for how they could travel here to begin with. Perhaps there are other dimensions or realities where understood physics don't apply.

As for ghost sightings, I have no idea. I cannot imagine why the soul of a dead person would even want to stick around here and mess with the living by making objects go bump in the night, and giving people random chills. Most of the theories revolve around people leaving behind residual emotional energy which soaks into their surroundings.
 
That's the thing. Other dimensions actually prevent the laws of physics breaking.

Also think more in terms of holograms for ghosts.
