Anyone know how to make the Liquid Sky effect? i saw one on ebay it spins and has six mirrors on this could i just do that?

That is ONE way - you could grab a line generating optic, and do it the cheap way if you like....OR, a motor with a few mirrors on it works fine, too  My firt one was a motor from dvd burner, and a spare optic sitting around....

just mount a mirror vertically to a motor shaft, and turn it on! although make sure it is stuck tight, as you don't want a mirror flying into your eye!

Would combining a line generator and a collaminating lens make the same effect?

You can also find surplus scanner heads from laser printers, they have the flat high-speed hexagonal (or more sided) mirror.

They run (usually) from a simple 5 or 12VDC.
