I first saw these on the WL site, but they have since vanished (perhaps the owner realized what a scumbad steve is?) They have a very intriguing effect, and it appears that the whole 'blade' is avalibe for ~$25 in their parts section... should be easy to fabricate a handle or modify a cheep "Lightsaber" handle... Thoughts?

I just bought the tunnel gun 2 from them
if you're a past customer of the tunnel gun 1, you get 50% off the tunnel gun 2
deal I couldnt resist

i know this threads about the lightSABER
but i thought I'd spread the news.

Just did some browsing on ebay and replicas of the real lightsaber as going for ~$50, many sealed and WITH COA from lucasfilms. could be a fun project to drill one out and outfir it with a blade/laser like I mentioned above.

Anyone have any comments? I know this is an *Extremely* nerdy subject, but cummon, this is a LASER forum, you're safe! lol

You know... for those of you that want to travel with your lasers, this is an option, since ppl would just asume it's a replica lightsabre, nobody'd think there was a high-powered laser inside... (provided you take out the batteries so pressing he button does nothing)

hmmmm it seems the blades ae polycarbonate, not neon tubes! although a similar thing could be done using a neon tube, although it would be fragile!

YES ! I know how it works :P Basically - inside the tubes is a steel ball - the steel ball rolls up, and sticks to the magnet (when the lasersabre is tilted) - thus the blade "grows"...you smack it in the palm of your hand, and the ball dislodges - making hte blade dissapear ! I STRONGLY suggest you support Cheyenne by purchasing the blade unit from him - you can make the hilt, or buy the whole deamned thing from him - it is brighter than ANY master replicas light sabre, and you can change the color when you change your lasers !

I've actually taken the plastic tube from a undercar neon light and am hoping to get some detailed pictures from greg on how to put together the whole thing. I know there has to be something in teh tube to illuminate the laser throughout the whole thing. It's a project I've been working on for some time now and hope to eventually get it done (with the help of greg)

lol if it just for show, you could use neon tubes, it would give a much more even spread of light, and you can get lightning neon tubes too!lol ;D ;D ;D

That's a DRT! (Dirty Rotten Trick, for anyone not familiar with the old cartoons ;)) I was sitting here thinking there was some high-tech property of the blade that made the energy be captured on it's way up the blade. That could almost be made at home!

Though considering the last time I tried to mold plastic... I think I'll buy a $20 lightsaber handle and the blade assembly from lasersabers... it's still great for videos (or even stage shows...) even if it is simple (then again, you'd all be AMAZED how many SFX tricks come from the hardware store! lol)

I just wonder how safe it is for the laser, esp ic the blade is getting smacked around like they show on the site... Unless somone here says otherwise I think I'd only use a $20 5mw DX greenie for this... and likewise a $20 red (or maye a $50, probably has to be fiarly high-pwoered to produce a believeable glow...) I dont care use my Atek or Nova...

ya you wouldn't want to be too rough with it if you have your good laser in it, but if you look on their site, there is size restrictions for the laser??? i wonder if a DX will fit in there???

I plan on buying a maser replica (or similar lucus-esque Lightsaber hilt) and just hollowing it out. For mine, tehre will be plenty room! lol (maybe I can even relocate the sound FX module so it stillworks! heh heh heh)

A DZ will NOT fit - but you can special order it to fit ANY laser. I used mine with a Nexus 95mw - and it had no ill effects on it - I was not whacking people all over the place woth it, mind you - it DID tear up the sticker on the front of it, but that was the only damage done to the laser.
