There's a company called Insanity Lasers that seems to have recently popped up. I frequently see their ads on Facebook but couldn't find any further information.

Their pictures indicate that the lasers use the same host as the "SDLaser 303" ones. But other than that, I'm a little suspicious for two reasons:

  1. There is no mention of any specs (not even the output power) anywhere on the website.
  2. They claim that their diodes are 20% more efficient. However, it seems unlikely that such a small company would be making their own diodes.

So I'm thinking that Insanity Lasers isn't too reputable. Thoughts?

Nah, I would pass. I don't get how a company could claim to make a DPSS process more "efficient". The pumping diodes have nothing to do with it I don't think, it all has to do with the crystals.

Hmmm :p

Forget about them---their web site is full of fairytales to rip off people who don't know any better---every paragraph is a misrepresentation of one thing or another.

YOu can get the same item for a lot less--get it here for $8.05 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Military-532nm-5mw-303-Green-Laser-Pointer-Lazer-Pen-Burning-Beam-18650-Charger/151724581219?_trksid=p2141725.c100338.m3726&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20150313114020%26meid%3Db43f125b9e1d427bae63dc58f586fe98%26pid%3D100338%26rk%3D10%26rkt%3D30%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D181516825521

Just google "laser 303"----you can get them from many places for under $10.

Definitely a rip-off. Have seen same kind of websites pop up for flashlights, making ridiculous claims, in reality selling the same cheap junk you can buy from china yourself for a quarter the price or less. The only difference between this laser, and an ebay 303, is the lack of a logo.

"Revolutionary Laser Technology"

Didn't know technology that's been around for 10 years (in its current form) was revolutionary.

Someone should report them to the CDRH/FDA if they are based out of the states. :p If they were charging reasonable prices and were more honest that'd be fine, but they aren't, so...

That's what I figured. Thanks for the response, everyone. I guess you could say that Insanity Lasers are pretty insane. :p

Stupid trigger word is "technology". Drives me nuts that everything from every tv ad out there has that word thrown in like there's a room full of Einsteins putting technology into every bottle of shampoo and razor.

Whatever it is it will be the best thing you've ever seen if they throw the word "technology" into the description;)
