I'm still WA0BMP! I sold my crossband repeater several years ago because I
no longer needed my autopatch. I am the blacksmith at the local museum about
5 times a year. They woke up when I blasted steel wool with my "converted"
1 Watt blue phaser....

Add some sort of micro-controller together with FM one can do virtually anything. And of course us older folks remember FM ... :anyone:

An answering machine, a relay and a touch tone decoder circuit and you can build that, you will give your friends and family the code to input when they call and then your phone will ring through, otherwise the telemarketers never get past the answering machine.
