Any love for mechanical keyboards?

I do to Love Mechanical keyboards :D , feel alot better than my current laptop keyboard .

I had a custom one done from WASD keyboards not to long ago , Colours ftw ! :P

What the heck are you guys talking about here? I can't understand it. Aren't all keyboards based on some 'mechanical' 'mechanism' that is the button you are pressing?
 
I think they mean the old, non laptop, style keyboards that were just loud and annoying to type on IMO lol
 
They are a different type of keyboard with a mechanical switch that engages, you can choose whatever switch you like. I personally like the ones that make an audible click with a tactile bump, the Blue ones. Others, like the reds, for example, have no clicking noise and are completely smooth to depress. Normal keyboards, like in laptops and others have a little rubber nub under the key that presses down. Anyway, they feel suuuuper nice to type on and i cant really stand typing on my old keyboard that i dedicated to my PS3(its either dome switch or membrane, its the kind YOU have), or any other keyboard in general

Most keyboards sold today are full-travel membrane type keyboards. If you take a flathead screwdriver to the keys in your keyboard you'll see that there's some rubbery squishy membrane below the plastic key that provides the spring action for the key.

A buckling-spring keyboard, on the other hand, has a very distinct "click" to the press of each key, even if the key is pressed slowly and softly. The spring is compressed until it reaches a buckling point, at which point the pressure on the key gives way. It's a very nice, mechanical feeling that doesn't feel cheap.

Thanks , For the keyboard and custom keys it was 140.00 USD + shipping , Plus i had to pay 40 USD inport ( im in the UK ) i think the total ran at around 200 usd .
 
I wish I would've spent the extra $80 to do that :/
Oh well; what are you gunna do lol
