I got my Elly Blu running this PM with 10 mW. It won't pop a balloon but will deflate it with a pin hole. Needs really good focus to do it. I'm at 39 to 40 mA.

Wow...

all these pictures are making me really wish my parts were in!!!
but I'm sure daedal is working hard and they will be shipped soon.

but still, I can't wait.

how high do the mW's have to be for you to see the beam at night?

If you are really wanting to see your blu-ray in action and don't want to wait for you components then you can take the short cut and just mimic the blu-ray phaser guy by adding a 150ohm resistor, a button and a 9v battery clip with a 9v battery. I wouldn't suggest doing this as a permanent solution but more as a temporary one.
edit- sorry.... :-/ I just realized that you probably don't have the diode yet either.
