Yeah and this guy must be retarted for doing it to a government helicopter. But do note that the article said something about the pilot putting on special glasses. Wondering if now they are equipped with some sort of laser safety glasses?

It makes me kinda mad to see dickheads do this sorta thing but I'm also glad to see them getting thrown behind bars.

i hope he goes to jail, but i really like how it say's "Michael Friedman says Berthiaume has limited intellect, which could have contributed to the laser incident."

That's annoying.. It'll go to court and his lawyer will say "He's backwards" and he'll walk....

If you would have go a little bit down ... you could see this :

Code:
US: 90 days for Washington state man who used a blue 1 watt laser on an officer
Thu, Oct 27 2011 Filed in: Non-aviation incidents | Fines & Jail
Daniel P. McBride, 32, of Cosmopolis, Washington, was sentenced on October 24 2011 to 90 days in jail for second-degree unlawful discharge of a [COLOR="Red"][B]blue 1-watt Wicked Lasers Spyder III Arctic laser[/B][/COLOR]. The incident happened in January 2011 during a traffic stop in Montesano. McBride had also been charged with assaulting an officer; that charge was dropped...

Hate these spyder 3 guys that think they have " the best laser in the world " ...

He is a real idiot ...

I was driving my truck before at night, and I had some kid shine a 5mw pen in my window. I turn the truck around, pulled up, and told him that doing so is a federal offense and that I could call the cops on him and he's spend years in jail. I think that one is probably scared straight.

The article that I read in my local paper stated that he received a sentence of 366 days, but it could be reduced for "good behavior".
The story also noted that he ran a strip club. Who knows? that may be an "essential" job in his community:D
It was also stated that - He used a laser that he also used for deer hunting, or was that "dear" hunting?
No matter- Shining lasers at a U.S. customs & border protection helicopter shows that he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer!
