just got this email and wondered to myself.....is this true ?
Proud to be White

Michael Richards makes his point.....................Michael Richards better known as Kramer from TVs Seinfeld does make a good point.

This was his defense speech in court after making racial

comments in his comedy act. He makes some very interesting points...

Someone finally said it... How many are actually paying attention to this? There are African Americans, Mexican Americans, AsianAmericans, Arab Americans, etc.

And then there are just Americans. You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction. You call me 'White boy,' 'Cracker,' 'Honkey,' 'Whitey,' 'Caveman'... and that's OK.

But when I call you, Nigger, Kike, Towel head, Sand-nigger, Camel Jockey, Beaner, Gook, or Chink ... You call me a racist.

You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you... so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live?

You have the United Negro College Fund. You have Martin Luther King Day.

You have Black History Month. You have Cesar Chavez Day.

You have Yom Hashoah. You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi.

You have the NAACP. You have BET... If we had WET (White Entertainment Television), we'd be racists. If we had a White Pride Day, you wouldcall us racists.

If we had White History Month, we'd be racists.

If we had any organization for only whites to 'advance' OUR, lives we'd be racists.

We have a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a Black Chamber of Commerce, and then we just have the plain Chamber of Commerce. Wonder who pays for that??

A white woman could not be in the Miss Black American pageant but any color can be in the Miss America pageant.

If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships ...You know we'd be racists.

There are over 60 openly proclaimed Black Colleges in the US . Yet if there were 'White colleges' That would be a racist college.

In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights. If we marched for our race and rights, you would call us racists.

You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're not afraid to announce it. But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists.

You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us. But, when a white police officer shoots a black gang member or beats up a black drug dealer running from the law and posing a threat to

society, you call him a racist.

I am proud... But you call me a racist.

Why is it that only whites can be racists??

There is nothing improper about this e-mail. Let's see which of you are proud enough to send it on. I sadly don't think many will. That's why we have lost most of OUR RIGHTS in this country. We won't stand up for ourselves!

BE PROUD TO BE WHITE!

It's not a crime yet ... but getting real close!

Re: a email i got about Racist

That's pretty much true, but one thing is there's nothing wrong with being proud to be white, but there is a difference between that and thinking white is BETTER.

Re: a email i got about Racist

Its a tough and controversial topic, racism.

One personal account of this, from my perspective:

I am a medical student and I am white.  Getting into medical school is no easy feat:  you have to do well in college, get good letters of recommendation, get a good score on the MCAT (Medical College Admission Test), spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars on primary applications (depending on how many schools to which you apply), spend hundreds more on secondary applications, wait for an interview, travel to the interview (which may require flights/long car trips) and leave a good impression, wait for them to get back to you (which could take months) and if you don't get accepted, start over next year.

However, the field of medicine has certain "disparities" for minority patients and the trend has been to encourage better "cultural awareness" or have more minorities (primarily black/hispanic) to go to medical school.  My school, as part of their secondary application, has a "cultural competence" essay as part of their efforts to encourage "sensitivity" to racial or ethnic differences, but also it is well known that the school has a certain "quota" that they try to meet for minority students.  What does this mean?  That they will give preference to an applicant who is a minority, given the same qualifications, over "non" minority, ie white or even Middle Eastern/Indian/Asian (as there are a large amount of those applicants as well).

Fair?  Not really.  But, it is meant to fill a gap in healthcare that has primarily to do with underlying racism or cultural differences.  What does that mean?  Well, it could be the racist or prejudicial treatment of a physician toward a patient, ie making assumptions based on race/ethnicity/culture for the lifestyle or actions a patient will have toward their health or medical care.  But, it can also be in the other direction, where a person of one race/ethnicity/culture may have distrust or avoid doctors or medical care because of their own assumptions or dislike of an actual (or assumed) race/ethnicity/culture of a doctor.

For example:  You may have heard of the Tuskegee experiments?  Basically it was a study of a disease (syphilis) in black men, for which at the time (1930s), there was no good treatment.  It followed their progression through the disease to see what happened and to get a better idea of how it manifested with time.  It was a perfectly acceptable study considering they couldn't cure the disease.  However, it was then in the 50s that they developed antibiotics which could treat the disease, but the doctors leading the experiment did not treat or even inform the participants of the possibility of curing it.  The experiment continued into the 70s and not only ended up affecting the people as part of the study, but also their wives and children (its an STD and can be passed from mom to baby during birth).  It was a huge controversy that deeply impacted the perception of medical treatment in the southern states (and across the country, to a lesser extent) and created a lot of resentment on part of the black community toward medicine, which was predominately a white profession at the time. After that, many avoided doctors or medicine all together, and it continues still today in some areas of the US.

So, basically, past events have shaped our current situation (not just in medical treatment) and grudges die hard, but we just have to deal with it and not ignore it.  We've come a long way since 100 years ago, or even 40 years ago, for racism, but it still exists... on all sides, not just whites to blacks or even the other way around.  It will never be fully eradicated, we'll all just learn how to better live with "each other" with time.  But, it's a never-ending struggle since ultimately we're all different (and have our own flaws) and there will always be somebody that doesn't like you for that, no matter what 'that' is.

Re: a email i got about Racist

Wesdaman14... How does your school handle a student wearing gang based material/propaganda?
At my school, they give the student another piece of clothing to replace the article deemed "inappropriate". Now, I'm assuming that you're aware of the gang trend to wear your area code on your shirt. The schools have adapted to this trend, and now (At least at my school) you are unable to wear anything with an area code on it.

Now, take this same template, replace gangs with white supremacist groups (Technically the groups are gangs), replace area code with white pride, replace students with white America, and replace school with society. Now instead of replacing clothing, you're labeled as a racist. And in this day in age, the majority being racist is societal taboo. People still play the reparations card, you know what reparations should be repaid, if any? A free college education, that's it (IMHO school should be mandatory until you get your associates degree). People will think of every possible excuse, but the bottom line is that people (typically) don't want to be labeled as a racist, because the KKK/WAR are racist. I'm black, you call me a gang member, I'll laugh. I build computers, enjoy mathematics, theology, metaphysics, and plan to major in Computer Science; I speak proper English, wear a T-Shirt and jeans at the appropriate level, and conduct myself in a way ((I feel) civil to society. If I was white, and you called me a klansman or a neo-nazi, I'd still laugh.

I see nothing wrong with saying "White Pride", "Black Pride", "Whatever Pride." However, saying "White Power," "Black Power," "Whatever Power," is implying that the race you're giving "Power" to superior to the others. which is not true.

tl;dr version= It's because white America is the majority.

Re: a email i got about Racist

in 6th grade i remember the staff constantly screwing with kids for wearing "gang related" stuff, even stuff like a necklace with a letter on it. it was a pretty constant thing they did to pretty much everyone but the a+ students.

and there were only 2 black kids in the school :-?

i guess they had to be racist to random people :P
