Am I missing something here?

lol mailing is stupid? how would the world work if that didnt existed hah..

Okay, now you're just being ridiculous.

Sorry nobody can help you.

Not entirely.

The one(and only) time I have bought something from LaserBTB my customer experience wasn't that great either. On one occurrence I asked "Kevin" for help regarding an order and was treated as a problem. No happy attitude toward me and seemed as if they just wanted to get rid of me ASAP and resume their work.

Even though their prices are very good, in my opinion I still won't buy from them again. I would rather pay more for the same laser and receive better customer service if anything unexpected happens.

Postal Service or another way was your choice----hard to beleive you don't ever use the Postal Service .

Sounds like you will have to appeal to Kevin better nature and hope he sends you a replacement based upon the video and your Postal Service receipt. Regualr Air Mail will take a few weeks to get to him if it is going to. Email him and ask--tell him in the event the package is returned to you you will reship it to him using the more detailed complete address.

I meant the comment about the postal service. Just because you had a bad experience doesn't mean you can discredit them. I've had bad experiences at the grocery store, yet I still go to the same one despite many others around.

So I haven't heard anything from LaserBTB in 3 weeks.. Im going to assume now that my laser is lost to the void and I'm out 200$.

Wonderful hobby. I think I'm done buying lasers.

EDIT: Might still consider buying from LPF members since they aren't satanic businesses. Might be a while before I feel like it though.

I know the feeling of being discouraged from a bad experience. Just remember that these morons have nothing to do with your enjoyment of your hobby. To let this set you back is a point for the moron ;) keep your head up, and buy from trusted members. I stopped buying company laser soon after I came here. If you want anything built, just let us know what your looking for, and I'm sure a new good experience will show you that there's no reason to let this specific horrible experience, ruin your entire hobby.
I was taken for a $200 deposit for a big build that I'll never see. It sucks, but it's a expensive lesson.

:) it's tough right now, but if you really like this stuff, you'll get past it and learn from it.

So let me get this straight. You have a bad experience with a single company and now you're all up in arms about it so much that you just stop doing what could bring enjoyment to you? That is like saying you had a bad experience at microcenter and thus you will no longer buy/use computer products...

Just buy from SciFi Lasers or someone else on here.

One of the worst comparisons I've ever heard. Completely ridiculous.

You're telling me a laser hobby is like buying or using a computer. Think about it for at least 2 seconds. How often do you NEED to use a laser each day. How often do you NEED to use a computer each day.

I'm not saying one bad experience should completely turn you off of something, but if you're going to compare 2 things make sure it's apples and apples. Not bean bag chairs and skyscrapers.

Sorry, it just really bugs me when people compare 2 things that have almost no similarities whatsoever.

As a computer enthusiast and builder/troubleshooter (whatever you wanna call it), I use a computer every day. However, I took a hiatus once for about 16 months. Didn't touch a computer. So yes, computers for me being a hobby, and lasers being a new hobby, they are comparable. Computers are not necessity and I think that is where you have deferred. They are a convenience really.

So yes, I can compare one hobby, that being computers, to another hobby, that being lasers. Same with me having a flashlight hobby too. Sure, I've had bad experiences, but they don't stop me pursuing what I enjoy. If they do, then I/you/we would have much bigger problems.

So playing around with lasers is the same as using a computer....gotcha. At least it makes sense now. And just to think, my job that I use a computer for 10 hours a day, 4 days a week on, I could just...not use it!

Being a one-off doesn't make it a legit comparison.

I think a good comparison of a company treating a customer badly and "ignoring" them, would be a person and his friend.

If someone has a friend who seems to not care much about them and whenever you need help with something, that friend "ignores you, or gives very minimal advice" you are likely to find someone else who you feel will suit you better and will treat you in a respectful manner and will always be here if you ever have an issue. Basically, you aren't left to try and figure things out by yourself.

Much better comparison. Sometimes you can forgive a friend for something they do, and move on, and sometimes you can't, and you never speak to them again. Sometimes you lose touch, and then become friends again later.

So email kevin at laserbtb again---ask him again if he received the laser back .

Based on your video and postage receipt he will probably replace it for you even if he has not received it back.
You had to do a customs declaration to ship the package to China---a package can be tracked wtih the customs declaration slip number which the sender is given a copy of.

Suppose it can't hurt to email him. I just don't want another email from him when the way he speaks to me is as though Im a complete moron.

And yeah, this bad experience has curbed my enthusiasm somewhat. Killed it? Not at all, but the urge to buy a shiny new laser isn't very strong right now. I think I'll just do some new picture stuffs with my new camera for now.

Well I got a reply. Looks like I won't be getting a refund/replacement if he doesn't get it back, which I think is kind of stupid given that I did make a video showing that it was dead.

Definitely crossing LaserBTB off my list.
