I know this may be a potentially dumb question, but I am looking for a laser that can be plugged into a raspberry Pi or wall plug. I need it to stay on constantly and is for a display. No cutting, burning, etc, functions are needed. Just needs to stay on and be visible.

Any cheap visible diode can do this. As long as certain conditions are met, such as providing a stable power input; and meeting cooling and condition requirements, a laser diode can last 1000's of hours.

What does visible mean? In clean air the beam on most lasers is invisible. It needs to pass into dirty air, humid air or some medium to be seen. Ie it must scatter off something. If you mean the dot sure no problem. Likely you need a very low power laser. If you just want something to look at how about three 5 mw laser red, green, blue. Make a rainbow of sorts.
