Just bought a Canon S110 and love it. In manual mode you can get some great laser shots
Also awillis is right about holding it... you could even been cheating yourself depending on how you are shaking when it peaks. with the OPHIR head mrcrouse made me a great finned heatsink/camera tripod mount.

and to hold my lasers i bought this. It also makes things alot easier while building.... its like that extra hand you always need.
