I bought a cheap Chinese safety goggle to use it with moderate power lasers i.e 20mw laser. I tested the glasses on my LPM and I cannot believe what I saw.

First claimed Specifications

Protection wavelength range: 190nm-540nm

Protection features: all-round absorption

Visible light transmittance: >85%

Optical Density: > 5.0, (OD +4, OD +5)

Tested by a true Class 3A purple laser pointer

Measured the laser power to compare the results, the laser measured 4.82mW

The google is taken apart to have accurate results

At 4.82mW laser, the goggles failed to block the laser guess if the laser was 50mW :D

haha, yeah, I once bought 3 pairs of blue-tinted glasses for my red lasers. They reduced 80mw 660nm down to 30mw. It's awful, almost disgusting; but that was before I realized I could get money back on counterfeit ebay items.
