aixiz module opening

How do you onpen the aixiz module to change the diode. Mine is a slippery bugger, and won't screw apart when i twist it. Is there a trick to it?

Yes but you have to be carefull I used 2 sets of pliers its the only way mine were stuck on very tight but here is the thing hold the pliers both of them as close to the center edges as possible if you try it from the back and front it will crimp the tube so put them right in the middle were they screw apart I had to use quite a bit of clamping force to unscrew them ,, abd it will leave little marks in the metal thats how tight I grip the sides, if you try putting paper or cloth under the pliers it will just spin I bought 6 of them and I actully bent one really bad trying to get it apart when you get it apart look at the threads it looks like they use some kind of thread locking glue becuase when you are unscrewing them a white powder flakes out good luck

Once you get it open, this is one way you can take the diode out:

You only have to do that if you want to save the 5mW diode, if you don't want it then you can just use a hammer and a nail. ;D

Chido, that was briliant ideal using the back end of the module to press in the Diode.

BTW that also make me feel much better knowing you don't abuse them. ;D

Well I wish this had been my idea, but it was actually SenKat's idea, and Rog8811 made the diagrams. The first couple of times I posted these diagrams I always gave the credit to Rog8811, but in the end I got tired of typing it. ;D

BTW, of course I wouldn't abuse your diodes. I just don't have the heart. ;D I know it sounds lame but I just couldn't help my self.

yep. I got it from a pioneer 115d, will the aixiz be able to screw together once the diode has een forced in?

Those are some very nice pictures, Chido..
I never had a LD with the legs so in tact..

They also show, it is possible to get the aixiz modules appart, without scratching them... I did scratch my first one, by using two pliars, but now i use a piece of cardboard in between, and they come out ok.

I did have some, that i was able to take appart by hand tho..

Oh, in the first part of that diagram, where it shows to use a tube, the back of the aixiz module could be used as well, if it is screwed on. But it has to be tight, if it's loose, it could theoretically damage the threads.

About the legs, it's because it's a SenKat diode. ;D
And I don't remember why rog811 used a tube, but yeah you can just screw the back part of the aixiz module.
