I wanted to know if any 1 had trouble getting the gb ld in the aixiz case, and if so how did you get it in?

i don't think anyone has had a prob, because the aixiz modules are basically made for this kind of diode size.

You need something to press it in. It goes in tight.

i applied a good bit of force lol used table corners 2 flat head screw drivers no luck lol iam thinking about lightly sanding the inside out with a dermal

GAH !
Don't do that ! it'll ruin the housing :-)

The EASIEST way to do it is use a vise ! If you do not have one, go buy one, they are fairly cheap !

Place the pins of the diode into the small hole in the back end of the module.....now, pkace the "head" of the module over teh top of the diode (the way it is supposed to be !) and hold that "diode-sandwich" together, placing the entire thing into a vise. now, close the vise up a little bit at a time, being careful not to pinch your fingers....once you SEE the diode seat itself, loosen the vise and you are DONE !

I have one of the tiny modules, little brass ones $4. Any advice on diode removal and reinsertion?

The diode in those is recessed. You will need a vice and a very small socket. Personally I am using the end of a cable tv fitting...the center part where it crimps the wire. The Dish network installer gave ma a bunch of them the last time he was here :) But a very small socket will probably be the best to use. No matter which method or which module..make sure everything is lined up perfectly before pressing it in.

I got desperate and used one of those modules because my bigger modules still haven't came. I used a vice grip and kept on pressing it in till it was in good.

Are we talking about the same module...look at the one on the left in the following picture. This is the module I was talking about.

Cute lil' buggers aren't they.. ;D Now Aixiz is selling them even smaller. The new ones are 6mm X 10mm, compared to the ones we have which are 8mm X 13mm.

How come my Aixiz module looks different? I bought the 12mm x 30mm 5mW $4.50 version and I got the ones in the pictures below. I don't care for the focusing method of these. The plastic lens housing seems a little loose and wiggles around a bit. I think I may need to wrap a bit of plumbers tape around it for a more snug fit.

Not really sure if the lens is glass or plastic as I don't want to touch or scratch'm. The driver modules that came out have a cool little LED on'm and light when the laser is on.

The modules everyone else seems to have, the ones with the grip in the front as Gazoo posted, seem to only come with the 'line' lasers from the look of their site. Anyone else get these versions?
