I wish I could find my camera to give some more shots. Here's the aixiz link:

This module fits standard 5.6mm diodes. It appears to be brass, and the old diode still worked after I did a crappy job at punching it out the back.

It's not much cheaper than the standard 12x30mm module (and definitely isn't if you go for the 10x 12x30mm blanks), but if you're looking for a smaller collimator, this is the way to go.

I do not know how well it focuses a BR (I have no driver yet), but it can probably capture more light from the diode since the plastic lens does not have a pinhole light restriction like the 12x30mm does.

I found my camera.

The normal 12x30mm module is included to give you an idea about size.

Hmm, Looks good.
Can you tell me the diameter of it? (I know it says 8mm, but this tends to vary among units)

I don't own a caliper, unfortunately, but all three I ordered check out to be right at 8mm as far as I can tell.  If you screw the focusing part in all the way, it's 12 mm long, and it focuses with the red at...i'm guessing...12.7 mm.

The lens is 6mm x 2 mm with an active diameter of 5 mm.

It's kind of funny...the module fits inside of the 12x30mm Aixiz.

Maybe you could mount them both together and use both lenses for an ultra thin beam!

These are kind of like those brass ones DX sells, though probably not so hard to get past the glue!
