Airborn Tactical Laser test video

Hey folks,

Just watched a video of the Airborn Tactical Laser hitting the hood of a truck. No explosions or anything but the accuracy is pretty impressive considering this is shot from a moving aircraft. Check it out.

Yeah, I've seen Lorgar's 2W IR beast burn like that... snap-crackle-pop! (But that was at a 6" distance.) I wonder how far the plane was from the target and if the hood was penetrated and the engine disabled. I guess it's a start anyway. One day it will be able to slice a truck in half no doubt... and I, for one, will welcome our new laser overlords... :crackup:

Interesting.

Wont be penetrating tank armor or even APC armor anytime soon.


Lasers as weapons are not very effective at the moment.

For example, the Russian RT-2UTTH ICBM is immune to laser weapons.


At best, they are good for a point defense system.

Like stopping small missiles, artillery shells.


This may change in the future though.....



As for the airship, Why don't we see more today!!! They are soo efficient. Let the helium do the lifting !
