Hello guys, i've been looking around this forum and i've found some post where someone wrote that he'd like some RGY laserpointer with regulation of the colors, and that gave ma an idea: to connect red and green laser beams with the beam spltter cube and regulate the lasers power with two current regulators. Too bad the cube has only two inputs instead of three, because then you could connect three lasers. I'm so mad that i accidently killed my 650nm dvd diode, because now i have only 532nm and i have to wait til' tomorrow to buy another recorder. Anyways, do you think this would work somehow? Cheers.

There was an Ebay auction a month or two ago for a cube that combined RGB... I'd never seen one before that. It was made of 4 pieces of glass, with light entering on 3 sides. I'm not really sure how much that affected the beam that passed right through, or how co-linear the beams were when they came out of the cube.

Expired auction [link=cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=300251238194]here[/link]... there is a great picture of it being used in reverse, shining white light in and seeing RGB come out the other sides. The seller posts on this forum, but the auction was listed as "very rare".

The price was pretty good, it sold for the same as the [link=cgi.ebay.com/RGB-laser-beam-combining-optics_W0QQitemZ360087767199QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item360087767199&_trkparms=72%3A1163%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14]Aixiz dichro's[/link] and a bit less than the (more complex) [link=cgi.ebay.com/RGB-Dichroic-Filter-Kit-Laser-Light-Show-Optics_W0QQitemZ270276174813QQcmdZViewItem?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116]Connecticut dichro's[/link]. There's a different kind of splitter/joiner at auction [link=cgi.ebay.com/RGB-COLOR-SEPARATOR-FILTER-optic-laser-show-argon-dpss_W0QQitemZ120304669263QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item120304669263&_trkparms=72%3A1163%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14]here[/link]... the weird shape is from the shapes of the various prisms. I'll try to find a pic of what that one looks like inside, it's pretty interesting.

I have one of these RGB cubes, they can be found in projectors, although you may have a tough time removing it from its housing, mines is still in its holder, which seems to be made from the same material as DVD sleds.

Data projector, the one I took apart had a cube around 1" 1.25-1.75" in it .
