A plea to users of coated optics (G1 and G2) lenses

mine looks like the after with no blackout spots, so i guess im not too bad....does anyone ever get theres completely clean? do you have to wear goggles with the unfocused projection?

YES!!! if you are above 5mw... Yikes! This one is a 600mw I'm sure unfocused it will burn eyes easy!

edit yes unfocused it is still arround 450ma-500ma on the Ophir if you get as much light on it as ya can...

yeah im 2.7w in 445...i wonder how much damage it would do unfocused on a flat white wall....

I just tested my 2.9W saik and it is sitting at 2.7W with the lens pulled and lotsa splash.

Never really tested stuff b4 without a lense.. Good to know that it can be just as powerfull.. makes sense though it is coherent light

ok here it is at 6" it is down to 490ma at 12" is is down to 140ma

so if your 5-10 feet away it should be alright?

Dont ever point a gun at anyone loaded or not! Why would you want to go test it out? This conversation is getting dumb quickly

just wondering if i can completey unfocus it and stand back 10 feet and shine it on a flat white wall without my goggles on ....its a pain in the arse to tell if its lens is still dirty with the goggles,i have to put my nose against the wall to see the spots lol....just curious

edit:im not taking bout shinning it at anyone

Well it's nice to wonder about things like that and to be honest I dont use goggles as much as I should expecially with these types of hosts that can roll or many other things can happen that can cause an accident.. I would never want to be on the recieving end of a 9mm 445 lens or no lens...

so your saying just to be proactive against accidents..im scared as hell of this thing,i just wonder if im too scared...do you think the open diode with no lens projecting on a wall is able to blind/impair you instantly?

No your not.. You should be scared.. It is one nasty laser!! at 2.7W I am saying that it can and will hurt you if you let it. Dont use it arround people without protection unless you are prepared to accept the consiquences..

just remember it can blindd you and others prety easily

I'm not the guy to try to answer these Q's

Allway's use Protection!!! Unless your married. lmao

is it just the beam and looking at a projected focused dot that blinds you...i just read a quote that said if the projected beam on a wall is more than a foot in diameter it should be safe to veiw...that sounds like their pushing it,but it was from a vet member..
