Well, I have recently found a local source for a lasercheck, and upon getting the old girl checked, it blew me away on a new E squared lithium... 17 mW peak, and with a conservative duty cycle, it STAYED above 14 mW for the roughly twenty minutes I was playing with it off and on.
Methinks LG wanted thier "special" ones to really be special, because mine isn't the first to do this.
This would explain why it has a visible beam in a lit room I think, and why it can light up dark rooms enough to read by.
Also, I've found that if I keep it from getting hot, it doesn't modehop, which is probably why it can keep it's power up.
Regardless though, with this kinda performance, I can deal with some modehopping.
