gotta love learning by error. ever hooked an led light up to 12v backwards? good times (wear goggles if you do attempt!!! it explodes)

Oh man, I remember something like that... way back when those bright red LEDs were the coolest thing, we got some and a switch and battery. I'd connect them up to the 9V battery and they'd work (never used or knew about resistors!). Well eventually I thought I could make it even brighter by adding more voltage, so I strung up another battery to it, and POW! $12 worth of LEDs burnt out in an instant. It actually made them explode.

Oh yeah, ever try putting a screw-in fuse into a lightbulb socket? They pop too!
