A.Barnett /A140 diode / Short Test

Hi,
Member A. Barnett has some A140 diodes and from what i built so far they are very efficient diodes for the money. This is a test of just one of a few i did. At each of the current settings no roll back ay all . the test was in a fan cooled heat sink by Ed Crouse miss that guy.. well here are some findings on these affordable diodes ..Hope this puts them into perspective a little. i could have gone further but i was happy at these currents for these great diodes.

It is a nice surprise. How far and few are these A140's becoming? I do know they are coming out of older and slowly becoming obsolete projectors. I don't lurk on ebay for diodes and to be honest have never bought a diode that wasn't already pressed into a module and set with a driver. Following Dtr's prices on his M140's and seeing these A140's are a good bit cheaper, this might break my fear of not having a steady hand and doing a "Complete" build instead of some plug and play soldering. Either way it seems you sure did get a good batch and setting one of these at a safe 1.8W is plenty fun:thinking::beer:

Yes i'm happy with the results buddy , nice power clean dot size and best of all the price is right. Damn i sound like Bob Barker , And by the test these are very forgiving with the current settings. I'm good with these diodes very satisfied so to speak. Thanks pal for checking out the test..
