Can someone direct me to a resource or explain the differences in the various ir lasers available?

I tried to read that block of tekst, but it doesn't make much sense, apparently you know too little about laser material processing but you do draw conclusions.
Small hint: 808nm lasers aren't used for material processing at all unless it's some hobbyist with a pointer burning electrical tape.

I'm not looking for a detailed review, just a general idea of what a hobbyist would do with these and if there is a clear winner in the group for the average hobbyist.

[smartass]They're different wavelengths.[/smartass] Solid state and gas lasers in general seem to have better beam qualities than their diode counterparts, although I don't think anybody makes a 10um diode, so comparisons can't always be made. :whistle:
