hmmmm this sounds like a awesome deal! to bad i only have 3 DX points, i wonder if they will accept that?? :P

Yeah, i got the one with the heatsink aswell but i cant get it to power... does it need exactly 5V? i used less (dont worry i havent blown it). Ive tried connecting red and black and i cant get it to go. Do i have to do something with taht feedback wire thing?

Mine came as well posted this at DX reposting here

I just recived my order of this laser and was a little suprised.
It seems I got SQU# 10095 instead bassed on the picture and the New wish Model # R-HD002 http://newwishlaser.com/english/productview.asp?id=871

The packet has the tag 9865 and 50mw in pen.
So it looks like I got the 100mw instead of the 70 mw but its actualy a 50mw.

Once i power it up I should be able to figure out what it is I hope

Powered the diode up with my DIY with output at 170 ma very bright beam can almost make it out under normal lighting

Not sure if im over driving it at this point as i have no idea what it actualy is 50 70 or 100 mw

going to wait for the more experianced members to play with them first

I've got one of them adjustable 0-12v (0,3,4.5,6,7.5,9,12V) plugs, 3v it worked, 4.5v it peaked anything over that it appeard to be the same

Pushed mine to 12v and it still lives. Just waiting on timelord to get here, he should have his by now, he's also got a power meter... sooo output should be kinda verified.

I'd have to say it's more 100mw than 50mw

Anybody that has this notice the beam seems to be a lot more visable than dvd diode ?

Make sure you actually measure the voltage. Those little multi-output adapters are useally way out when not under load (and often when they are loaded as well).

no update yet?

I can give you this as an update

DX seems to be shipping out hte 100mw units with the heatsink instead of the 70mw ones without.
The Newwish part number on the one i recived matches the >100mw unit
I have it running off 4AA batts in a project box without any problems.
It burns very well and has about a 4mm beam at the lens but can be foused to a very fine point.
From comparison with my DIY 18x running at 300ma I would say they are equal and should be well over the 100mw mark.
I have allready ordered another 2 units.
Great value for the money

what ma are those drivers letting trough good enough for Senkats diodes.?

Just measured it for ya maxed it is putting out 260ma.
Cant for some reason measure voltage with or without the diode conected

I'd be interested in this unit but I'm currently in the middle of a very frustrating botched order from DealExtreme right now. Its too bad, I love my DX50 and I was pleased with the customer service.

Near Christmas too many orders not enough staff
I feel bad for them they normally do a good job of sorting orders and getting them shipped

They seem to be having a real hard time getting the laser products from suppliers right now
it will probly sort itself out soon (I hope)
