Well I finally worked up the nerve and extracted my 6x. I have to say, ive taken some nice pics with my PS3 sled lasers but the 6x just kicks ass!!! When you take pics with the low power it seems to fog up and appear blurry. With the 6x the images are crisp! I did not expect this, but am definitely pleased. If you put your hand in the path of the beam at 30ft it burns your skin instantly like a 150mW green inches away! It is powered by the infamous 7805 configuration provided by Gazoo, running on 7.2v @ 110ma with an average output of 120mW and have pushed it to 200ma (but not long enough to meter it). Thanks to all the 6x forefathers who risked their precious diodes and paved the way! Here are some build pics and beam shots, enjoy!
The first pic is the module housing the diode, its from a DX 70mW labby. The quality of these modules tend to vary, because of this I trued it up and took the warp out of it and of course matched it up to a heatsink prior to the build.
