Here is my new mits 110 singlemode build in an Aurara SH 035 with extention and a mogasm 159ma linear driver. Thaught I would share it with ya.

This was a fairly difficult build mainly due to my driver choice but it is what I had on hand. I had to drill out the pill and extend the module part way out the end of the heatsink to accomidate the length of the mogasm linear driver I dont think this will make alot of difference in performance due to it being a low 167ma build. A round driver would have made this alot easier but unfortunately I cant get them anymore. I also needed a small spacer between the pill and the heatsink which left a small gap in the head connection I am going to try to find a smaller spacer wich would solve the problem. I cut some slots in the pill so i could use a small screwdriver to turn in the pill and I used a blank benboost round board for my battery contact. I knew buying them would come in handy and I didnt have to wreck a perfectly good led driver for it. On another note this driver seems to work with 1-14500cell as well as 2x14500cells with the extention. the driver on the testload put out 167ma with 2 cells and about 107ma with 1 cell. I hope I'm not hurting it with excess V running on 2 cells.

Well here it is with and without smoke...

Here is the raw diode output compared to a mits 300(bottom) @2'

+ 1 on persevering with a difficult build, but it was worth the effort, single mode 638 is brilliant. Well done.

Yes, those small builds are not easy but you did it ! And a case neutral diode helps alot.

Yep I killed a mits500 in this host when my driver got hungup on the pill and twisted the pins off This time I made sure I could see the driver while I was screwing in the pill to make sure there were no hangups.

Wow, it looks great! I'm not the biggest fan of reds so I've yet to spend the $50+ on a Mits diode yet, but eventually I'll get around to it myself. The host looks a bit curved though? Is your camera on the fritz or did you bend it when you, err, "nudged" the heatsink in there?

Hmmm it does look a bit curved... I think it's just an illusion of the shadow on the bottom. I duno it is actually not curved quite flat on a counter top even with the extention it likes to roll...

Excellent! Conservatively powered coherent diode very pleasing @ < 640nm.

Yep that was my intention. I have lots of burning lasers now I just thaught Hey this thing doesnt have to burn the cat! But I bet the cat would still lose on this.. I really just wanted a nice laser that will last the ages...
