Congratulations GR3EN! There probably aren't too many more DL 589nm 50mw left to be had so it is great you got one of them. A nice beam of sunshine

But the price is kinda killin me smalls!!

great pics.. looks like it has a pretty tight beam. Or is it the pic?

Zwesome laser you have there mate! Im considering the pgl 589 from CNI but I'll have to have it shipped to my in laws. They live in England then have them ship it to me. I like the DL Spartan but want more power. Yours is pretty bright for 50m.
Mmmm maybe I'll just get the Spartan.

From what I've been able to tell a lot of them meter closer to 100mW than 50. Also,how much more power do you want? In order to get twice as bright a beam, you need four times as much power. 200-400mW of 589 probably isn't going to happen in a handheld... For a while if not ever. And even then it's only twice the brightness, so still nowhere near as much difference between, say a cat toy red and a 100mW green. You have to remember that even the freakiest of CNI yellow handhelds got to just shy of 200mW, sure it's brighter but is it double the price brighter?!

As an owner of one of these I can say beam visibility is no problem at all and if you put a bit of incense or fog into the air you'd have to be blind to miss it.

When did you buy this DL 589? I'm really considering buying one, and would be fine with 30-35mw output even though they state 50mw. Thanks.
 
Beautiful! Are you going to LPM it?

I just noticed, you've got an impressive laser collection there. After the 532nm arrives you'll have all the major wavelengths (except maybe 650nm/660nm).

I ordered it on the 15th from dragon lasers it shipped the 25th and arrived at my door at 2pm the 27th (yesterday).

Also I do plan on doing a lpm test after I get a lpm. My lpm money went to my 532nm. So it may be a couple weeks. Or I may send it to another member to be tested.

Do you have an estimate of the output? I might order it, but I'll probably buy two beam expanders and diffraction gratings with it. So I'll have to save a bit more I think.

Edit: How does the dot look like? Does it have any splash around it, or is it clean?
