MISTERWILLING got a new TO-3 635nm diode w/FAC included.
He wanted to test the power and focus it to a beam for a scanner projector project he is working on.
First we checked the power with my Scientech meter.
It registered 560mw @ 1.5 amps.
Next was the focusing tests. It was outputting the typical red pattern after just the FAC lens:
First lens had 1 3/8" focal length. It gave us a fairly round 3/16" beam projected across the room.
Then he tried this 25mm lens with the 5/8" focal length. This one seemed to do the best job of a nice round beam (~1/8"). He is working on a machined mount for that lens.
Board member sbdwag is also trying the 25mm on an 808nm 2.8 watt power C-mount.
