505nm Green laser question

I just purchased two of the new Surefire X400 gn laser weapon lights for work. I noticed one on the weapon light said 505nm and the other 515nm. I emailed Surefire about this and they replied they made both but will be going to only the 505nm.

I tried both out. The 515nm is very bright green. The 505nm is more teal. Which is more desirable? So far the teal is a bit easier on the eyes on splash back on walls.

Any green experts want to chime in and educate me on the green lasers?

505nm? Never seen a diode of that color. Can you post a comparison picture or a link to where it's being sold?

Its a $400 gun flahlight. All things surefire are overpriced. They are the WL of flashlights but unlike WL they are quality items

It's the Surfire X400. Though there is also a red laser variant, the green is newer.

EDIT: This whole thing isn't even new, it was just overlooked:

Here is the only video that I can find demonstrating the ~505nm laser

Nice color!

Aren't these diodes available from any other products/sellers?

I have to disagree with you there. Surefire is made in the US and from top quality parts. I trust my life with one being in law enforcement.

Tried just about every weapon light out there and non stand up to the X series Surefire. Had the inforce fly off weapon along with Insight. The Streamlights are descent, but some guys have had moisture issues with the TLR-2 lasers. Cheap plastic housings.
