480nm EDC...

Are you talking about the aluminum driver cover? I've noticed this as well. I just back the cover off the copper part a hair and it will wiggle right into the heatsink. Haven't had an issue with the copper back halves just the aluminum piece.

@dden ,
Not the AL backer but the 12mm module I made a threaded adapter to screw in an turn it on the lathe with 400 grit brings it down perfect.
@BT
Thank you I built them both together and matched the host to the WL. And the holes are a nice touch you can see the WL through them
@BBB
When I set the diode atop the press I usually twist it while pushing up into the 12mm module then look down to see itf the can is centered then I press it home . Works every time

dden, I've had it happen with the aluminum back halves, and also just recently with the copper one that I used in my "Silver Bullet" build; there's a photo of it about 15 pics down.

Heay, Rich. I didn't know you were planning on using an X-Boost driver with these diodes. Jordan told me that he has had a lot of complaints from people using X-Boost drivers with single mode diodes causing diode failures. He said he has never had this problem with multi-mode diodes, but the Nano-Boost driver was the answer to the X-Boost for single mode diodes. Just thought I'd give you a heads up.

Hi Paul,
I been using x Boosts for 405's a long time no problems. So I just figures that these SM's would be just fine no problem yet . But thanks for the heads up buddy. I have about six I saved for other planned builds . For the lower mA's I keep them I the first range.

Rich:)
