I've looked at jet lasers and sanwu. I have a 405nm sanwu. I like this laser and I'm considering buying a new laser at this 462nm wavelength maybe from them. But looking at the other company and reading over some posts of JT's lasers I'm inclined to maybe buy from them. The price of the JT standard unit is less which is good. The overall quality also seems as good as sanwu. If anyone has experienced with both companies at this wavelength chime in with your thoughts.

462, from what I've seen, is not very impressive. My eitan 462 looks almost exactly like 445, just a very slightly truer blue. Considering what a bag of n***ia he was, it might just be a 450, or I might have gotten unlucky with a low-WL diode.
In this case though I'd recommend going with JL, due to the lower price and great quality.

Hi Steve,
462nm is much more blue than 455 or 450 I have 3 lasers that i built with that diode and it is nice .. DTR has them and they are nice diodes if you build them your self.

Yes, you will notice a difference in blue from the 462. You may have got scammed by eitan, or you have less blue acuity. Even if you had a 462nm only doing 458nm for instance, there should be a obvious difference.

I see a large difference between 450 and 462, is it possible some individuals just don't see much difference?

Yes it is possible, some people have a additional cones ie yellow, and some lack acuity to certain wavelengths. But in this circumstance, it most likely is because of Eitan, not Sta's eyes. :D

Just put 1mw of 450 and 462 in RHD's relative brightness calculator you can find in my signature for an idea of the difference in shades of blue.

I can happily say I am not color deficient. That wavelength vs. color is accurate in the middle ranges.
