Hi
First just basic of what i am doing:
I want to build a wireless laser module which burns a material from some feet distance. the remote will send signal to module and there microcontroller on receiving signal will turn on the laser.

Now I am very new to this laser stuff and i have so many questions
1. where can i buy 405nm 150mW laser circuit?
2. Is it possible for me to get a complete circuit which has laser diode as well as its driver circuit?
3. Can this high powered laser burn stuff?
4. Does this driver circuit need external battery ? and what is the power estimate for it?
5. Any suggestions which microcrontroller will be capable of driving it?

I know this is a lot to ask in one post but any answer or clarification will be helpful
thank you,
CG

150 mw will probably burn pretty well, 500mw will certainly burn very weii even at 30+ feet if focused correctly and wont cost too much more, still under 100. you can buy the laser circuit from members here

a remote controlled laser:D thats new! good luck on your search! and you can find drivers at cajunlasers, mohgasm, and survival laser. Im just not sure how many amps you should run it at.

For a personal project you can make your own driver.

Whats the purpose of a remote controlled laser...

oh am so sorry.. i am new here.. i will take care next time. it is a lab project with uses in mines where you want to explode stuff

Umm.. edit your post instead of double posting. Thats kinda a rule here at LPF and im curious as to what you are exploding

its all good so you're saying you will use a laser to ignite an explosive for mining? thats pretty sweet:D

Ok, I just have to say something. 150mW will not burn well at all. That's pretty low powered. And, it certainly will not burn from many feet away at that output.

I have a >600mW 405, and it isn't even capable of decent burning (not popping) at that kind of distance. A couple of feet...even a couple of more. But, not "many feet" away.
