350mw RPL on ebay cheap






Good price, no comment on the seller.

This is not an RPL though, it only has a 1.5 Watt pump diode, and it probably doesn't have the amount of power level, stability level, and overall quality level (In means of Optotronics requirements) of a real RPL.
 
350 is very optimistic for a 1.5W pump. The 160mW RPLs from optotronics have a 1.5W pump. But even for a 200mW laser, that's not a bad price.
 
My prometheus has the 2.5W pump, and yet it can make up to 500mW of 532 (peak), does 375mW average, is VERY stable, and the 808nm diode is only set to 1.2W (about 1.3A current draw) and yes, I have measured it on a meter. Just some food for thought... those crystals that Viasho use seem to be high quality pieces. Very good efficiency.
 
Have you measured the output power while measuring current? The shunt resistor in your multimeter inordinately impedes the current of this particular driver. If you have the adjustable end cap, measure the resistance values of different settings on the cap to prove this to yourself. They are very low, on the order of 2 ohms and less.

I haven't tried to measure the output power while the multimeter is measuring current. I dont have the adjustable cap, but if the current does change when I'm metering it, wouldn't it just get lower causing the pump diode to output less? I know that without the crystal set on the laser, with no multimeter attached, the diode is putting out around 1.2W. So this is the same amount of power that is being pumped into the crystal assy. Hell, I wonder how much green it could crank out with the diode actually running at it's rated power. :o
 
hey gus when mines on the lowest setting it shows about 260 warmed up then on about 15 setting about 400 mw its a rpl 375 like yours hope that helps ;D
