300mW 635nm diodes

So, I don't know too much about these diodes, even though they have been around for a little while. Can someone just answer these simple questions?

1. Are these the same diodes that some people (crazy enough) run at 600mW?
2. Is 400mW a safe range to drive this at with a moderate-large heatsink (such as the hotlight, or a MXDL 3405? And if so, approximately 700mA should achieve this?

Thanks in advance for answering these questions. I tried doing some research on it, but I just want to verify these questions before I buy. Thanks moh for the post, it's about time I got a 635nm higher than 5mW :) (though, if I understand correctly, at 400mW, these will be more like 640nm?)

1) Yes
2) Yes (though 400mW from 700mA might require a G1)
3) Yes (640 or maybe even 642)

Clif is great. This price is great. I just ordered two more.

I am running mine at 1.06A and am getting a little over 900mw with a G1!

Edit: Damn. Went to order more and they're sold out. :(

i want one definitely going to place an order, hope intl' shipping would be reasonable n trackable..

Now that he knows they sell, Clif is going to reorder and stock up on the 635 diodes, so they should be available again soon.

Yep that's right Matt! Got 15 more on the way now, if those sell out I might get 20 or 30 next time.
