Bumping this to thank EVERYBODY that contributed, today I received a package with the lasers (#2 option). They are really bright (much brighter than my old DX 30). Two of them operate in TEM01 for the first three seconds but it stabilizes very quickly. One thing I noticed is that the acrylic lens on one of them started to "melt"? after about one minute and a half of constant operation. I let it cool off and it worked fine again. As we all know, these babies are very susceptible to temperature, but the heatsinking is really good, they are REALLY good looking, VERY easy to take apart completely as members reported and has a very good divergence compared to the newwish DX 30.
Thank you all for your input.
If you want/need me to I'll post some pics and make a little review.
Oh, and robjdixon, if it's not too much to ask, could you take the side by side picture of the modules you offered before? Now that I have the hosts I understand the heatsinking piece that had to be drilled and I think it could easily accomodate suzie's module.
EDIT: Maybe I'm rushing things as I don't really know if the 100mW sandstone modules can run off of a single CR123 battery.
Thanks again!
