I'm thinkin on using 4 16340 batteries or is that not enough? its analog ttl but i dont see any button in the pic. any help would be greatly appreciated. I got excited and jumped in this to fast.

It would be appreciated if you would introduce

so. . .you don't know?

Can you provide more information? What module specifically did you buy? Have a link?

Can't help you if we don't know what you're talking about.

If I had a penny for every time you had to say that to new members I’d be able to buy us all dragon lasers 589 Spartans

It would be helpful to know exactly what you are talking about. Please provide a link to where you bought it.

16340's will have very short runtimes between charges with those high powered diodes, your diode can be drawing 4A and if your driver is linear and not a buck that means you will need langer batteries for sure.

thanks for the feedback. i can't find out much about the driver another company says there boards come set giving out 3.5 watts and the module draws 1.8 amps, chinese company says find a driver that gives out 3.5 amps but i'm going to try to use this driver with 3 18650 hooked to the dc in. i hope that it will just come on and i won't have to worry about modulation, do you think i need to test the current on this type of driver with a dummy load or just hook my meter up to Ld out +- and since this is going to be laser pointer instead of work laser couldnt i just take the fan off? thanks for the help i bought this before i realized its the wrong way. and seemed the cheapest way to get 3.5w laser appreciate you're help i'll let you know how it turns out https://www.ebay.com/itm/Engraving-...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649

Chinese companies, for the most part, cannot be trusted to give correct information, much of the time over inflated, or poorly designed lasers and or drivers. There are exceptions for sure, but most, nope... they are pretty much bold liars.

The two engravers you provided a link to use the same driver. Strange that it is out of focus on the higher priced one. Both are from Existotem. Don't buy those current numbers as they are not likely true.
