Umm, *MY* personal experience with that driver is horrible. It arrived faster than anything i'd ever bought, but didn't work properly. The current changed depending on voltage, an overall nightmare! maybe i got a dud but i wouldnt recommend it.
OH and i HATE kipkay :)

Honestly if you can solder, make your own one. Do you have space requirements, if not simple make a "LM317" Driver. for 480mA, you need a 2R6 resistor (2.6 ohms) It is very easy, and very cheap!

I wanted to keep it all in the AixiZ module but I guess I could make the driver with the LM317 and resistor. What amount of mA would a 20x DVD burner diode use? Just a rough estimate.

Yeah, those drivers are weak and prone to overheating above about 300mA. If you really need it to fit
inside the AixiZ module, you could try one of the X-Drive™ variants. Which one depends on what you're
powering it with.

Another deserving rant thread. Please never use Kipkay for a source of laser "genious". He's great for most things but not lasers. Second don't get into laser just for burning. People that do that really aggravate me. I know I can't control you but I'd prefer it's not just so you can show your buddy's that you can pop balloons. Third get safety glasses before anything. Even before done. Fourth use the search function. It wasn't put here because it's just that sexy. Nope it's sexy and functional.
