Can this laser be used just for lasing, and not for a laser show ?
looks like it has a very nice heat sink, and at that price.

Yes. You will need a power source for it, but it can sit on your desk or go into a box and just be a laser.

Peace,
dave

how much power supply is needed ?
And how much do u think all supplies will cost ?

This simply takes 5VDC. Any workshop type power source will work. They are NOT expensive.

Peace,
dave

**EDIT** Plus you will be able to use the power source (if you don't build some permanent enclosure) on the labby lasers from places like DX as well.

MOAR power

MOAR colors

LONGER BURNS!

Re: 200mW 650nm DPSS Red Laser Diode W/TTL for Las

What wavelength is red DPSS?

And where can you get red KTP crystals? I wonder what the power efficiency is. Compared to green at 20-30%

Re: 200mW 650nm DPSS Red Laser Diode W/TTL for Las

650nm is regular diode wavelength - red DPSS is 671nm, a much darker red

so yes it does seem to be a bit of false advertising but I think he just threw in DPSS as a search term and it ended up making it look like the module itself was actually DPSS

Re: 200mW 650nm DPSS Red Laser Diode W/TTL for Las

It is NOT a DPSS laser. It is false advertising. look OEM Laser systems and you will see that true 671nm DPSS lasers are quite a bit more expensive then the 650nm diode laser. Of coarse there's allot more to these systems then the other as well.

Ya but, what about the SLD1332V? It puts out 671.

It actually puts out 670nm... ::)...but 500mW..?.. :o Damn! I guarantee that's diode alone without a driver module is WAY more expensive then the OEM DPSS systems! Pretty soon, they are suposed to mass produce these diodes for video laser projectors, soon we'll be watching movies on the clouds! ;D
