DK, may I know what kind of assurance or warrantee or guarantee will I get if the unit arrive at my side out putting less than I expected?

SO, to put this to bed I am going to go ahead and meter this one more time. It will be this evening (2/13/12). I am leaving for work now so if there are any request on how I should perform this test so that I can satisfy any potential buyers please speak up. I am going to follow the lasrbee manual as closely as I possibly can. Other than that I will do whatever the people want.

I was just about to retort, with my own screen shot supporting my end. I can prove some things as well but you are right this is pointless. I am ok with the edit at this point as my initial rage has come and gone.

This was also my sensation, BTW the supposed "first" laser seems to reach a 2.4W... a very good result in any case...

Dont worry I am going to re meter it on film this evening. How far do you think I need to zoom out so everyone can be sure that I am not pointing a "second" or "third" laser at the sensor to pad my numbers?

Here's the short of it;

DK sold me a laser as being 2W, with a copper heatsink and a g1 lens.

The laser metered at 1.5W, had just an ar coated lens, and no copper heatsink.

When I asked to return for a refund DK apparently already spent the money.

There was some confusion at the time of the original sale according to DK, I don't know the details of it.

What I do know is DK contacted Yobresal, and Yobresal agreed to buy back the laser from me. This is not something Yobresal had to do.

I received payment from Yob, promptly sent it out, and IIRC Yob later sold the laser. As the 1.5W laser that it was.

It was a stand up move from Yobresal to buy back the laser, and speaks volumes to his character IMO.

@DKlaser

You were gonna send me the ~$15 that I ended up losing in fees and shipping when you re-sold me the "2W Rifle" laser Yobresal sold to you.

I forgot about it, but what happened with that?

I think the moral of the story is that if you aren't rock solid in your selling practices, the forum members will remember it and warn people off.

I like that! I like it a lot.

I'm not directing this at DK, but generally speaking it seems like there are a lot of sketchy people, or half-butted people who can't be bothered with the details of doing things right and it is very nice for those of us spending money on these forums to be able to decide whether there is a fire under the smoke in these stories.

I have yet to experience outright fraud, but I've had a sale that I think the seller wasn't completely honest. It wasn't bad enough for me to stir up a hornets nest, but I will avoid that person in the future.

If it was a blatant case, I'd have aired it out here.

MOST of my dealings have been from people who have tried to go above and beyond to be fair. Integrity seems to be the case for MOST of the members.

But it is good to know the questionable sellers will be called out! If you are a seller planning on misrepresenting your goods, take note! You only get away with it once here.

Jesus Christ I think this has been covered. WHat else do you want here? I took pictures of the build have shown proof of its power and am going to show it in video. Personal opinions of me aside I guarantee that I do damn good work and I will guarantee that.

I wasn't taking a shot at you. I'm relating my experiences. I have had sellers like Raybo who go out of their way to do things right, and I have had sellers who left out details that might have negatively affected their sale.

I'm just glad that if a person doesn't do right as a seller on this forum, then that person WILL get called out. That is all I'm saying.

:beer:

P.S. I think it is great that you are videoing the power meter run, I'm actually looking forward to seeing it just to see another interesting laser-related video! :yh:

I am sorry if you thought that was directed at you. It was not at all.

Uhm... so... Now that I did remember...

From this point forward I am not responding to ANY post unless it is directly dealing with this sale. This thread has been mucked up enough as it is. If you have an issue you need to take up with me other than dealing with this laser you know where the PM button is.

PM sent, and I wasn't the one who brought this previous issue into the thread.

Well, the video is about as straightforward as it gets.

You can embed it in the post by using the [yt*]95MUy2IyCNw&hd[/yt*] without the asterisk.

How in the world are you watching it without goggles from that close though? Personally I don't watch a laser over 1W from >6ft and even then the dot is unpleasant to look at.

Get goggles...

I have goggles, I forgot them and I had already got started on the test once I realized it.. ( I know its very stupid and I should of stopped) The coating on the thermopile is flat black and really reduces the glare and it is really not too bad looking at it.
